DIGITAL EXPERIENCE
CARDINAL DIRECTIONS INTERACTIVE SONG
An interactive listening experience in which the audience chooses the next direction—North, South, East, or West. A philosophical attempt to reclaim place as a value rather than a measure, through the Heideggerian notion of dwelling within a musical space experienced firsthand. The project is currently in development.

Choose the next passage
During playback four alternatives appear: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The countdown transforms the choice into a musical gesture. Every sequence creates a different path.

How it works
Open the workHOW IT WORKS
This is the first experiment with a single piece of music that can be listened to in 64 different versions through a dedicated application.
The composition changes its path according to the listener’s choices: a few seconds before certain predetermined moments, it is possible to decide which of the four cardinal points it should move toward.
Open the application and press PLAY. A countdown will appear. The introduction begins.
Before the introduction ends, you must choose the path the piece will take next, using the NORTH–SOUTH–WEST–EAST buttons. At the beginning, the piece has not yet taken a specific direction; therefore, if no choice is made before the introduction ends, the music will stop and wait for the first choice.
From the next choice onward, if you do not press anything else, the path continues toward the cardinal point already selected. At each new countdown, you can either stay on the same path or change it.
All paths lead to the finale.
The recording was entirely carried out by the group during a ten-day full-immersion session in the recording studio, using analog equipment. The piece was composed and performed entirely by S.A.D.O. – Società Anonima Decostruzionismi Organici, without the use of artificial intelligence.
